We hold events in commemoration of the Holocaust. The main event in which volunteers are generally needed is the reading of the names. As well as other events such as the recent “Who will write our history” screening to help greet guests and aid in the running of the event.

Mishloah Manot Making

Each year around Purim, the AJC in conjunction with the JWRP and JOLT we prepare Mishloach Manot baskets for the senior Jewish community of the HRM. The volunteers needed for this event would be responsible for the delivery of the baskets to community members.

Each year the Atlantic Jewish council puts together tables at various cultural events across Nova Scotia to promote and offer insight into the Jewish community of Atlantic Canada. Volunteers are vital to events like this because they offer a real representation as to what the Atlantic Jewish community is.

The Abraham Leventhal Scholarship Now Open until May 31th, 2019

The Atlantic Jewish Council invites applications for Abraham Leventhal Memorial Scholarships. The award will normally be to a maximum of $5000.00 for each application.
