International Holocaust Remembrance Day 

International Holocaust Remembrance Day: Remembering Elie Wiesel and Yaffa Eliach

Thursday, January 26, 6:30pm – Paul O’Regan Hall, Halifax Central Library, 5440 Spring Garden Road, Halifax. 

Elie Wiesel, Nobel Peace Prize-winning author and Holocaust survivor, whose work for Holocaust remembrance continues to influence, passed away on July 2. 

Dr. Yaffa Eliach prominent and pioneering scholar of the Holocaust and survivor who launched the first Center for Holocaust Studies Documentation & Research in the USA, passed away on November 8. 

A tribute featuring readings, visual display, music, and words from local Holocaust Survivor David Korn, with a reception to follow. 

Presented by the Atlantic Jewish Council and the University of King’s College with the support of the Halifax Central Library.
